Frequently asked questions

What is a Hackathon?

It's a 24-hr event where you will have the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and build meaningful projects alongside mentors from various disciplines.

What's the cost?

Nothing! Admission is completely free, and shall include cool merchandise and prizes!

What if I'm new to this?

That's totally fine! We'll be conducting beginner-friendly workshops to get you started with projects.

What do I need to bring?

a) A Computer b) A Water Bottle c) Sleep Masks d) Accessories: Headphones/Earphones e) Toiletries f) Sanity

Do I need a team?

Yes, you need a team to participate. We are allowing only a team of 5 people right now. If you don't have a team, go ahead and register. We will set up a Discord server to facilitate team formation before the hackathon.

What is the judging criteria?

Innovation, usefulness, accessibility and uniqueness.

I have registered, by when will I receive a confirmation?

Based on our waitlist, if you have received an RSVP email and filled it before the stipulated deadline, your participation is confirmed. Please note that in our aim to strive for better diversity at our hackathon, though non-cis males will *not* be given a preference during the event or the judging, they will, however, be preferred during the application selection process.

Can I start working on my hack before the event?

Participants are only allowed to work on their project during the given timeframe (24hrs). Recycled/Repurposed projects will be immediately disqualified!

What's the easiest route to the Hackathon (from Delhi)?

The fastest way to get here would be by Metro. Take the metro from your nearest Metro Station to Jahangirpuri Station on the Yellow Line. Our shuttles (managed by Ashoka) will be parked between Gates 3 and 5 of Jahangirpuri Metro Station (here: https://bit.ly/3muAzHH). They will leave at 7:45 AM sharp and you will be at Ashoka within an hour. Outside of this, Ashoka shuttles depart from Jahangirpuri Metro Station every half-hour.

Will there be any hardware-based hacks?

Unfortunately we won't be able to provide any hardware supplies for the Hackathon, but feel free to build them if you're really passionate about it!

I have more questions!
